WIPP Victory - Small Business Legislation Passes Senate!
3:32 PM September 16, 2010
Earlier today, the Senate finally passed the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act of 2010 (H.R. 5297) by a vote of 61-39. This is a huge victory for WIPP and for small business. WIPP fought tirelessly for the small business provisions in this legislation, and is thrilled that this bill is finally moving forward.
The Small Business Jobs and Credit Act of 2010 contains a number of provisions that have far-reaching, positive effects on small businesses, such as the establishment of a $30 billion loan fund for community banks, major changes to the Small Business Administration's (SBA) federal procurement programs, and tax incentives for small businesses.
The bill will go back to the House, where it is expected to pass.
For the next few of days, I will cover various provisions of the bill. I will summarize the provisions of the bill so that you'll know how these provisions will affect your business. Tune in!
