More WIPP technology news to watch today includes this National Journal piece on the benefits of lifting doctor-licensing restrictions to make way for mobile health technologies. According to author Darius Tahir, loosening restrictions - which "restrict the number of foreign doctors, bar nurse practitioners from performing traditional doctor duties, and keep telemedicine from replacing in-person doctor visits" - could help drive down health care costs, all the while expanding access to life-saving technologies and medical professionals. FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel also tweeted a link to Tahir's article, adding old regulations "can fence in the new possibilities of #telemedicine."
