More than 150 leading women business owners from Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) gathered at the WIPP Annual Leadership Conference to celebrate the recipients of this year's prestigious WIPP 2011 Awards. Laura W. Boyd, PhD, Owner and CEO of Policy and Performance Consultants, Inc. based in Norman was the recipient of this year's WIPP "Public Policy Award" for elevating the voice of women business owners in the national public policy arena.

"Laura Boyd has worked tirelessly to inspire and urge WIPP members to be part of the dialogue.   She is the voice and the vision of the membership and our Instant Impact Advocacy Team," said WIPP President Barbara Kasoff.

Boyd served as National Co-Chair of Women's Business Policy for Barack Obama's Presidential campaign. She is recognized nationwide as a vocal representative for women business executives. From 1992-1998, Boyd served as a Member of Oklahoma State House of Representatives.

More than 150 leading women business owners from Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) gathered at the Annual Leadership Conference to celebrate the recipients of this year's prestigious WIPP 2011 Awards. Olive Rosen, owner and photographer of Photography by Olive based in Falls Church was the recipient of this year's "WIPP 10th Anniversary Award" for her passion to capture the growing impact of women in the business world nationwide.

"If there is a women's event, Olive is there, capturing the people and the event on camera, making it come alive and part of our history.  We owe a huge debt to her.  She is our hero," said WIPP President Barbara Kasoff.

Rosen has had a strong interest in photography and her life as an Army wife gave her the opportunity to explore and enhance her skills in this medium. She returned to school and earned a degree in commercial photography and then began her new professional career in 1978, where her first position was as staff photographer for a magazine publisher producing four monthly trade magazines featuring games, hobbies and miniature doll house products.

In the 1990s, Rosen was a member of a team of eight American businesswomen who traveled to Russia twice to work with women business owners in the region, and in 1996, she traveled to Malaysia for the purpose of mentoring the women there. Rosen has been a photography instructor at the Smithsonian Institution for ten years, a member of WIPP since its inception and a Life Member of National Association of Women Business Owners.
